Got a new cover for A Game Of Pawns!
Very happy with it. Would love all kinds of feedback if you're willing.
I technically have also edited the book a lot, but haven't uploaded those changes here. Honestly, Wattpad hasn't been much on my radar.
Anyway, hope you all like the new cover!

@StevenBoers Hi Steven! Like the new cover! _ Looks like the hooded guy playiing chess is the grim reaper. An attention grabber! I'll probably read your updated novel soon. I got a lot on my plate right now. Will you publish it soon? Yours was the first that I ever read about a video game where the M.C. got sucked in and lived to tell!

You know what I've learned? Being online consistently is hard. I've never been one to go on Facebook, or Twitter, I've never been on Instagram, or pretty much anything else. And when I'm committing to writing, finding time to pop online is just not a high priority. Even when I remember and think, "Hey, I should go on Wattpad and say something," I don't.

How do you guys do it? Is it something that comes naturally? Do you have to work at it? Or like me, do you rarely bother?

A quick update on my work:
-What I find MOST EXCITING: I have begun the process of paying someone to create book cover art for my Ruination Game series! I will be self-publishing it. If any of you have experience self publishing, I would LOVE to hear any advice you have - especially with advertising. I have a plan on how I want to release the series, but that's pretty much all I have so far. I need to do a lot of research, and I could use all the help I can get.
          - I've finished the first draft of my alien book - not that it's all on here at this time. Some of it is. Maybe later I'll add more, we'll see.
-I'm working on a new book - a LONG book. Currently 37,000 words in and I'm not even half done. It's got 3 POV's, and will be an epic fantasy with some Urban Fantasy elements. Unfortunately, I do not intend to put on here. The format wouldn't go well - chapters are intentionally very long.

Hope you're all doing well. Sick-season is upon us and I, for one, hope to not get sick - which is unlikely since I have a 5 year old going to school, and who is already getting a cold :/

I've been on a bit of a story-plunge recently. Doing less writing, but experiencing other stories. The process has been ok. I've been wanting to write different things, but I do need to get back in the headspace of writing what I've already started.

Speaking of, I'm putting off the 2nd draft of Manipulating Like Mentalists until I've completely finished Speaking Like Sorcerers. Looks like a lot of changes are going to happen and I'll need to adjust MLM so the continuity stays right. Meaning, I'll be working on my alien book, Geff and the Purified Undorbious Sacks, until then. Hoping to finish the 1st & 2nd draft before we're done with SLS. I'll have to remember to post those chapters here. I've been pretty bad about that so far

@Glory_feeling2 Thanks. Good luck you to you too. Hope your contest writing goes well. I know of the movie, but haven't seen it.
I am not writing for a contest - just for fun. The story is about an alien coming to Earth to 'conquer' it by attempting to sell water. It's meant to be a pretty silly story.

@StevenBoers Hi! Take your time, no hurry. Unless you are writing for a contest like I'm doing ... I'm writing to submit a Sci-fi story for the Wattys ... I don't write fast, so I started developing the ideas last year. Coincidence ... Seeking an S.O.S.: Behind the Scenes is also an alien story but they are also competing with Earthlings for land on a undiscovered planet and there's a catch. Avoid the carnivorous plants or you'll be eaten alive! Have you ever seen the movie "Little Shop of Horrors "? Well, been fascinated with carnivorous plants and how many stories have them? Not a lot. So, that's why I thought of it. *smiles* Good Luck with your story!

Vacation was great! Colorado Springs was absolutely beautiful. If you ever get the chance to go, I highly recommend it. Just be careful about altitude sickness. But even if you do get it, the view alone is worth it....probably.

@Glory_feeling2
Yup. It snowed one of the days and during a night. It was pretty cold and windy most of the time, but it did warm up the last day we were there.

@StevenBoers Hi! Nice to hear from you! Glad that you enjoyed your trip. How's the weather in Colorado? Heard it can heavily snow there.

About half done with editing the 1st book - A Game Of Pawns. It's weird going back. I recently finished the first draft of book 6 and I'm realizing just how much I've developed the characters since then. But it feels good and I'm definitely finding things to improve. Makes me feel good about myself as a writer - like I'm getting better.

I've been listening a lot to Brandon Sanderson. Mostly podcasts or interviews, etc. He's great, and he's very inspiring. Something about how he talks about writing is contagious and makes me want to write too.

@BrittaSwann Thanks! Things are going well. Been writing a lot recently. Hope things are also going well for you.

And I'm back.
I'd like to be more present here - including with updates like this. Maybe not daily, but at least something SOMETIMES, so no more multi-month breaks for me. Sorry for anyone who thought I just gave up - I didn't. Some of the break was due to a family member getting some bad medical news and my heart wasn't in it, but I was also feeling a bit frustrated on this platform for various reasons.

Still writing though. Currently working on the 6th book in my series, The Ruination Game. It will be called: Manipulating Like Mentalists. I'm nearly done with the first draft - still lots to do though. If you're interested, please take a look at the first couple books I've done, starting with: A Game Of Pawns
