Born at a very young age, I have achieved the lofty goal of still being here on this mortal coil. Why is life referred to as a coil? I can only imagine it's because it twists and twists until ultimately it doesn't. Although a coil would imply that it twists continuously in one direction and thus far I have seen it twist back and forth, up and down. So in that case it's less of a mortal coil & more of a mortal sugar-fuelled, child's crayon drawing on the wall. For brevity's sake lets say it's a mortal crayon spasm.

So this far in my journey on this mortal crayon spasm I have held many jobs, from retail sales to butcher, Business Development Manager (I still don't know what the hell that is) to fruit picker. I flipped burgers (not at the fruit place, different job) and I have also been a security guard & bouncer.

What did all those jobs have in common? I dunno, I'm genuinely asking. I have no idea how I ended up in each one. I guess the common denominator was me. Also the fact that at each and every one of those jobs I used to dream of massive sprawling imaginary worlds. Instead of paying attention to picking plump juicy peaches, my mind had left my plump juicy body on autopilot and headed off.

I would start with a simple idea that would need a backstory that would then explode into a whole world that needed rules, guidelines and history. All my life these worlds have been my refuge, in any given moment I was exploring a dreamscape with the Lord of Nightmares or plunging into a political standoff in the hidden world of the fae folk just behind the veil that separates worlds.

In my mind I have boundless worlds. They are always there & always exciting. Darker than night, prettier than dew on grass, as fragile as a last breath and mightier than a gods rage. I would very much like to share these places with you if you would care to join me.

The child's hand has stilled, the crayon has come to rest. Step to the left of ordinary, I am eager to make your acquaintance.
