Given we've reached 30k reads on SHI3RD's remake, I would like to thank everyone who's been reading this story since day one and has put up with my inconsistent uploads. Thank you very much, all of you. Lots of love from the author.

@Blaze1908 To be honest, I was not interested in the game itself. What I was interested in was the lore. I first came to know of Honkai Impact through a fanfic, in fact. Surprise, surprise. It was some male oc x HI3 fic as far as I remember. And somehow became interested in M̶e̶i̶ the plot. Jokes aside, as for why I made this fic, I was genuinely curious about what turn would the events take if there was something that changed the tale from a critical point; a Singularity of sorts. Like, what would happen if instead of this happening, something else happened? And that's when I wrote my previous work, Sky/Silver, the first Honkai fic where Shirou appeared. But due to me being an amateur at that time and retconning a few things, I discontinued that book. It wasn't until some time later that I managed to get some good knowledge and inspiration regarding narratives and storytelling that I decided to give it a go again. Said inspiration came from other forms of media like manga or VNs. And so, I started writing again. This time, with my peace in mind and with an improved writing style.

@_gehen_ I know I said I'll put the answers in the next chap, but given there aren't many questions, I'll answer them here. To be honest, if we trace back to when he first appeared, it would be one of my previous works named "Shin Honkai Impact 3rd: Sky/Silver". That's where Shirou got his introduction. Although, he actually WAS created on a whim because I was writing Sky/Silver just for fun. I was deciding on the character's name when I thought of using "Shirou" and "Ikari" together. Those two things were random, to be honest. And when I uploaded the first part of Sky/Silver, I was surprised by how much of a good response I got. But as I was a beginner, I made plenty of mistakes in the story, resulting in retconning a few things. And I had to discontinue that book. It wasn't until that I made the remake that Shirou's character got justice. He had his own personality, his own beliefs and his own thoughts. As for the inspirations of his character, it was from many other forms of media with a deep narrative and focus on the characters like D. Gray Man by Katsura Hoshino and Pandora Hearts by Jun Mochizuki. And to be honest, that was also because of the great ol @_hellvor_ who gave me some advice on character development. You will see how Shirou differentiates from a typical MC when you continue reading the story :) Thanks for reading this book!
