oh man people are reading the latest chapter
          i was kind of expecting that most people who used to read children of chaos have all but abandoned it by now (and no shame to them! that's perfectly valid). i'm really excited that it's already gotten so many views and stuff!
          i have a lot of time on my hands and i'm in a better mental state than i have been since before the quarantine, so i'm expecting to stay pretty active on this account for the foreseeable long time

by the way, i will preserve all the old chapters! I'm planning on possibly uploading a copy of them as i go, mostly so i can compare my old chapters with my new ones.
          
          unfortunately the pre-first-rewrite versions of chapters 1 to 3 (and maybe 4) are lost to time, but i can upload the current versions of them when i change things
          
          there's also the firstest first version of Children of Chaos that exists solely as a stack of notebook paper stuffed inside a clipboard in my desk. it has spoilers right now, but when we get past everything i covered in it i'm planning to copy it over and upload it to make sure it's not lost
          
          i think it's important for authors to look back on their early works sometimes to see how they grew, and i think it can help aspiring writers not to get discouraged when they see other writers improving. everyone starts somewhere you know?

the total for chapter five is a monstrous SIX THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN words
          
          that's like three entire pre-rewrite chapters all packed into one
          
          unsurprisingly, a lot happens, most of which absolutely did not happen in the pre-rewrite version

wow the wattpad editor is horrible on mobile
          i knew it was bad, but even just pasting in a super short story i wrote elsewhere and trying to fix all of the formatting it messed up literally took 2 hours
          definitely not using that again, i'm glad i can upload children of chaos on my computer lol

"a couple of days" i say, immediately calling upon my hubris to strike me down where i stand
          
          i couldn't write for a couple weeks bc i left my phone in the dishwasher but i'm back and ready to keep going! i swear there's just a couple more sections to clean up a bit and it'll be published

a (mostly joking) summary of chapter 5:
          
          Erratum: oh no i did something weird how do i avoid a conversation about it
          Erratum: *literally yeets himself away*
          Erratum: this will definitely not cause problems for me in the future

ive gone from accidentally making my characters autistic to purposefully making my characters autistic

I know it's been a while since I promised the update! had to take a break from writing for a bit but I finished the chapter!! woo! it'll be up in a couple of days when I'm done editing it, can't wait!
