Eric grins, pulling out his death scythe. He points the tip at the boy.
"We are dangerous people chico." The boys dark eyes widen a fraction of an inch.
"Dios, I have heard of your kind but I thought that it was folly! Es imposible!" He turns his eyes from Eric and they land on me, "It does not matter." He says, "You should not enter."
"Why not?" I ask.
"Demonios. Demons." The boy replies, eyeing me warily. His eyes flicker with fear, "Strange beasts. Some younger boys thought they could kill those creatures of hell..." he shudders, "Their screams were heard for miles, their bodies never found. I advise you to leave. It would be best." As the last light of the sun vanishes, I notice a red sheen to the boy's eyes. They gleam like the dying embers of a fire.
"That's very interesting." I mutter, and the boy snaps his head in my direction.
"What was that? Please speak louder chica." Ice crystallizes in my veins. Did he just...but...he did. He called me a girl...
"Chica?" Eric echoes, "But Alan is male."
"Is he?" The boy pulls his lips into a twisted smile.
"I am." I say, my green reaper eyes locking with his ruby ones, "He is only trying to distract us from the truth."
"And what is the truth chica?" I wince when the boy speaks, feeling Eric study me. Sucking in a deep breath, I force myself to remain calm.
"You are a demon," I say bluntly, "So why are you warning us?" The boy leans back, his face a mask of mild amusement.
"You are very smart chica-"
"Do not call me that demon." I hiss, feeling the pain flare in my wrists. I clench my fingers as the pain increases and something bitter fills my mouth as my teeth cuts through the delicate skin on my lower lip.
"Why not?" The boy taunts, "Did I...strike a nerve?"
"No, but you are getting on mine." With a grunt, Eric launches himself at the demon.
