I have a bit to say so I hope you can hear me out cus it's going to be a struggle for me to convey properly.

Waning from 'The Nothing.' It's a story that started off as a small idea that came to me like a headshot at the back of the head. The concept excited me, the premise was perfectly built and set up.

I started working on it once everything was set and done with my other works. But then things fell apart.

I was suddenly feeling burnt out. The story started getting delayed day and day after.

          	Ame's graduation was announced. Then Fauna's graduation came....then Mumei's..then Gura's.

What started as a story I loved writing became something that I just wrote to fill a void, to occupy myself. I stopped enjoying what I wrote.

In the end. I don't like this story.

It's like taking months to build a house, at the end you don't feel happy because you ended up making a tower. The story didn't take the direction I wanted it to and my ideas for it began to wither.

I just can't bring myself to enjoy working on it and after discussing it with so many good friends, if I don't enjoy doing something, I shouldn't. The fear that stopped me from doing so was everyone who liked the story and read it through and through.

But I know what I want to do if I want to reignite the fire I had when working on these stories.

Waning from The Nothing will take an indefinite Haitus. When I plan on coming back to it, I might just revamp the story. But for now I want to bring a stop to it before completing something I'm not happy with.

@bigdan1 it's a surreal feeling to find out someone who's work you've admired ever since you've seen it happens to be a long time viewer. It means way more than you can imagine to me that you've been reading my stuff for so long already!

I've known for a while that I can only give it my best when I do something I enjoy, that's why most of my completed stories go beyond 20 chapters. It's just that too much happened between writing Waning from The Nothing that by now it has battle scars of what's happened in between. Still! I'll keep looking ahead, refresh myself and write on. I'm always grateful to see and read everyone's thoughts and opinions on what I create. Honestly I'd love to speak to you more about it! Your work is phenomenal even when it's just one book. We have a community of authors over on discord if you're ever interested on interacting with other writers!

Take your time, don't push yourself. Having a drive and passion for a project is the most important thing for a creator, so if you feel like don't like the direction of where the story is going, don't force yourself to write it for our sake.

You should keep the original book up, but create separate one of you wish to revamp the entire story. In the end, your mental well being is the most important thing.

My opinion? I'm sad that the story in on a indefinite hiatus, however I completely understand the need to take breaks. So please dont push yourself and take a break. I'll literally enjoy any stories you write man. You're one of the inspiration to start writing and have the courage to post my stories. In matter fact, I've been reading your stories when I was new to wattpad years back, I only started publishing not too long ago after seeing the passionate community.

So please take care man! Take your time, it's alright!

Ok I'm at least glad to see that I'm not the only one having these random issues. Many others have made similar reports to Wattpad about suddenly not being able to upload chapters today.

I just hope they actually do something about it instead of consistently telling us to go through their troubleshooting options a million times.

ThePotat420

I don't know if Wattpad just specifically hates me or something.

For some reason it just won't let me upload the next chapter for Waning from The Nothing. I even made a test chapter to see if it was a connectivity issue but that one uploaded fine. I copy and pasted the entire chapter into a new fresh one and tried publishing it but it came with the same results.

I'm so tired, my mind is all over the place. The one thing I'm trying to get enjoyment out of and this is what it does to me.

Zerkofar

Phone Wattpad actually sucks big time, this has happened to me before but it just worked randomly afterwards.

I hope you're doing okay. I know the news hit us all hard, but just know that we're here for you.

ThePotat420

@joshferna01 I'm fine. I'm just collecting myself for a bit. I don't want to halt my books for any longer than I already have, I'll be continuing the Mumei story soon since I'd like to have it done before Mumei leaves, at least.

I'm getting tired of this shit. I still haven't gotten over Fauna and Mumei's leave gut punched me anyway. The fuck do I do with this? I can't put up with it anymore man.

ThePotat420

@GingerTheif13 "Disagreements with management and misalignment with the company's direction." Is a universal statement used by all entertainment industries. It is always used under an NDA where the person chooses not to go in depth about the actual reasoning. But in truth that doesn't ALWAYS mean that the talents are suffering mistreatment, it's just that the way the company has been growing has just been a direction some of the girls didn't want. This mainly happened due to the involvement of investors and their influence that forced Yagoo's hand to make these changes. One can't fault him for that, the market just functions like a double edged sword.

Either way, Kiara and Calli confirmed that we shouldn't be expecting any graduations from the EN side anytime soon cus they're all content with where they are and fine with how things have been. Gura had to let go because she suffered a heavy impostor syndrome, it also broke her down because at the end of the day she's human and the level of fame she had was too overwhelming for her and that came to the conclusion when Cover unfortunately went public.

In all honesty, this seems more like a management problem than anything else. Fauna left because of differences with management. Mumei’s leaving because of a chronic illness and management issues. Now Gura with management problems. This is more Hololive not understanding their talents, then the talents not wanting to stay.

@ThePotat420 I'm so damn sad man, this graduation really hurts me

Well, the same day Gura graduates, I'm going to jump off the sixth floor of my apartment. The life of an unemployed person with a criminal record is pointless anyway.

Joeld0

@I_Love_You_Firefly please don't, I know what being suicidal is like, but even when it doesn't seem it, someone cares about you. Whether it have been a small interaction like this one now, or a full on conversation. More people care then you think.

Now that I've had some time to clear my thoughts, I want to clarify that this will not mean I will discontinue my other book. After "Brother Abyssguard" I will return to "Waning from the Nothing." immediately. For the time being I have heavy mixed emotions and I can't guarantee it won't have trouble writing with such a bottle of thoughts. But the last thing I want to do is abandon it. We will consider it a tribute to her and the memories we've made.

That being said, that was also my plan for the Fauna story I have planned but on that note I wanted to ask y'all. Would you like to see that story first or do I finally stop teasing and begin with Shiori's story?

BlankError999

@ThePotat420 Keep teasing! It's been a while since Fauna graduated, and it's been more in the know, so I feel it's more been waited for

@ThePotat420 Just my opinion, but I think its better you finish Mumei's story because she going to leave on April 28th
Reply

ThePotat420

@GhostPhoenix330 It's better delayed than not be finished at all. I never had any intentions on leaving it unfinished. I do, however, work at my own pace and interests so I'm not going to force myself to juggle so many fics at one time.
