Virginia Bigler

I'm a high school librarian, which is to say that I feed the minds that will control the future. It's the noblest of professions, and I'm passionate about my job. I must love books, or I wouldn't have been drawn to a profession in which I'm surrounded by books all the time. My mother did me the biggest favor of taking me to the public library every two weeks when I was a child. Biographies of Amelia Earhart and Annie Oakley made me believe I could do anything, while the illustrations in Raggedy Ann and the idea of other worlds lurking in wardrobes made me believe anything was possible. I try every day in my dealings with students to share the love, the magic, and the mystery that can be found in the pages of a good book.
