You know when you read a fic and the writer like "Sorry, there is eventual smut but it's for CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT" and then you're like 'okay'. Then you reach the smutty bit and it's the most detailed and well written thing in the whole fic! Like, we know you just wanted to write the smut. Don't try to disguise your passions in a long laborious, fanfic and say it's for character development. If you wanna write smut; write smut. Someone will want to read it. Trust me.
