Subject: The Wattpad France community deserves to be heard!
Since the closure of the Wattpad France subsidiary two years ago, the community of French-speaking authors and readers on the platform has gradually felt a lack of support, recognition and visibility. Although Wattpad is an international platform, French authors are increasingly neglected, with no resources or local structure to accompany them in their writing journey.
The Wattpad France subsidiary offered specific support to authors, support for the promotion of their stories, and a local presence essential to maintain the momentum of the community. Today, this absence is painfully felt. Many authors find themselves without direct help or communication from the platform, despite the enormous creative potential of the Francophone community.
Why this is a problem:
- Lack of local representation: French-speaking authors find it difficult to be visible internationally, without the help of a dedicated team in France.
Lack of support for new authors: Young writers in particular, often the most vulnerable to the difficulties of online publishing, no longer have access to local tools to help them get started.
- Communication difficulties: Without a subsidiary in France, communication between Wattpad and its French-speaking users has become increasingly complicated, with a slow response to the specific problems of French authors.
Our request:
We call for the reopening of the Wattpad subsidiary in France or the establishment of specific support mechanisms for the French community. We want French-speaking authors to be once again supported, valued and listened to by the platform that made them grow.
Wattpad has the opportunity to reconnect with a vibrant and creative Francophone community. It is essential that this community can benefit from the same resources and opportunities as other users around the world.
