          My first actual superhero story has been published; and there's only 1 chapter!

          In a world full of all kinds of people with super powers. Be it heroes, villains, and the in between, one man outsmarts them all. 
          With a hearty laugh and a boisterous personality! He is-! The World's Greatest Vigilante!

          Disclaimer: I don't feckin know what genre my book is because there will be action, mystery, and drama! So... Thriller, maybe? Don't know yet!
          
          Anyway, the first two pages are kinda boring but they're a start of something you'll never see coming! 
          
          Pls read, lol. And critiques are welcome!!

Them: Hey, I like you and want date you for real.
          Me (Mentally): WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FU—![Wolfy.exe has stopped working]
          
          .... 
          I'm not used to people being flirtatious with me.
          I've shot people (male and female) down at least twice due to my fear of not being able to provide them with a good time.
          
          I don't even own a car, let alone have a driver's license.
          
          I do have my own place to stay, but no actual bed yet.
          
          Why should I subject someone to dating me when I can't even bring them to my place and show them that they can stay with me there because there isn't even a couch to sit on, let alone any more than some small items because I can't afford actual furniture yet!?
          
          ....am I overreacting?
          
          I don't know.. 
          
          I do, however, feel that I'm not ready to date yet.

          Anyway, I'm writing a new story. First one in ages if I actually post it. 
          That's all. Yeah, I'm alive. And my birthday was just yesterday so happy belated birthday to me, I guess. 

Knowing all of this in the span of a couple of seconds, Lucas had to act fast. Faster than he had ever acted before, since he only had a couple of seconds left before any suspicions or otherwise could arise. After all, an arrow did just Impale his heart.
          
          Without a solid plan, or the ability to think out entire strategies in milliseconds, Lucas crumbled unto his stomach as naturally as a freshly made corpse could. His eyes remained wide open, just so he could catch a single glimpse of his assassin. As expected, the being in question removed their stealth after determining that their target was out of commission. Almost soundless, deliberate footsteps accosted the fallen Lucas. 
          
          Lucas could make out the shadows of an indistinct male figure leaning over every so slightly to determine if their target had truly passed on. There was no movement. Only a pregnant moment of silence that gave birth to a somewhat satisfied sigh. Then the shadow of a male figure slowly passed by, their footsteps moving further away until there was nothing but silence once more.
          
          Lucas could not recall when his mental grip slipped, it just did. And just like that, warmth encased his backside as blood pressure decreased and his heart slowly stopped beating. Which would make sense, since a gaping hole in his ruptured organ gushed blood into the expanse of his insides. Some of which barely escaping to the surface of his skin.
          
          As his vision turned to darkness, Lucas vowed one thing. If he somehow revived from this, he would surely return to kill his killer. 
          
          Lucas is dead.

Lucas should be dead. 
          
          Simply stated, that is a solid fact that none can deny.
          
          Why? Perhaps, it could be due to the arrow currently lodged dead center in his still beating heart. From behind.
          
          So, why isn't he dead? Because Lucas doesn't want to die. Not now, not until old age takes its course. Unfortunately, he couldn't see this incident coming. All he can do now is hold the arrow in place with his telekinesis, mentally forcing his heart to continue to pump blood around this grievous, blatant wound.
          
          He really should be dead right now. A mere split second's reaction later and he would indeed, truly be dead. But now, all that can be done is time slowly passing by as his world seemed to disappear around him. All focus was solely on dissuading what is arguably the inevitable.
          
          He was but a simple student of among the thousands in a massive, highly secretive academy full of future supers unlike the world has ever seen. He didn't do anything out of the ordinary, nor was he completely hidden either. 
          
          And yet, someone felt that he was so much a threat to their life that he should be eliminated swiftly and fluidly. Many questions circled around his mind. He couldn't possibly think of how many people would want him dead just because. But one thing was glaringly obvious, his assassin was a stealth type ability user who specializes in discreet kills. This was no isolated event, it was very well planned by this individual. Exploitation of weaknesses when least expected was their forté.
