Writing is an entirely different experience for everyone. What works for one writer won't necessarily work for another and as such, much of the battle is finding what works for you and making it your own.
@WritersGiveAdvice is just about that... Writers giving advice. We're not professionals by any stretch of the imagination, but we do know how to craft a reasonable tale. We know just how much thought and care goes into building the perfect (or imperfect, if you're doing things properly!) MC, and we fully understand how difficult it is to build the world your MC and supporting characters inhabit.
We're not going to tell you how or what to write, as that's really not our place to say. But we will offer advice, and cover a plethora of different routes your own writing journey might take you.
Ultimately it's down to you to decide your path, but no one ever said you're not allowed to get a few hints and pointers along the way!
