So decided to read Sylvia Plath's 'The Bell Jar' bcos she's a poet and I like things written by poets, even if its not poetry, because its always very expressive and moody.
But I underestimated just how moody it would be, considering Plath committed suicide less than a month after it was published.
Basically don't read the Bell Jar unless you're feeling really happy and have a steady supply of upbeat music and hot chocolate to bring you back to life after each chapter.
But saying all that, it is amazing, and its written beautifully and openly and I do thoroughly recommend it.

Things I need to read:
          - Everything by Holly Jackson (if only she would write faster!)
          - The Faerie Queene by Edmund Spenser
          - The Art of War
          - Rationality from AI to Zombies

also literature. And Shakespeare. And the other Bronte sisters.
You know, I could just put a sideways 8 and that would do as well...

Oh, and Animal Farm by George Orwell is a must.
Sabriel by Garth Nix is also good if you like hard fantasy.
