Life is about taking a chance. I took a chance on here encouraged by others.  I have been a reader all my life and I still remember my favorite book from when I was a child. Steven Kellogg's A Rose for Pinkerton. Mary Downing Hahn's Wait Till Helen Comes gave me the chills and Anne McCaffrey sent me on adventures to new worlds. 
I am not a professional but I do what I enjoy. Like other writers I agonize over every word. But, I really enjoy telling stories. I have so many just sitting on my computer waiting for me to have the courage to publish.
