Tw: mention of r/pe and sexual assault

I saw a friend post about this and I want to spread awareness as well.

It’s becoming a trend on tiktok that on April 24, it will be “national rape day”.
This is fūcking sick, this isn’t something that should be joked about. R/pe is fūcking awful and this is just generally so gross to me.

Please be safe on April 24, even if it’s a “joke”, some people might take it seriously and hurt others.

I didn’t really explain this well, but I’m including a link to a video (I’ll also put this on my bio) , the people in the video explained a lot better then me.

(I don’t really think links work)
The YouTube channel is called “ARTISTTUBE.O-O”

I just want everyone to know that I will continuously try and learn to grow as a person.
I’ve had recently used the r slur at the beginning of 2020, which I am not proud of as today. I am not sure if I have ever used it in my published writing, but I have used it when talking with friends. Now that I am going into 2021, and continuing to want to grow my platform, I feel the need to step up as a creator to admit my past mistakes.

I have never used the slur against anyone, but I still knew the origins of the word and continued to use it, which is not okay.
I will never be using that word professionally or in general conversation.

I am truly sorry for anyone who has been affected by this word, it is not mine to reclaim.
