Misha kept switching the song playing on the radio till he specifically chose Closer by Nine Inch Nails.
I swallow the lump in my throat and feel his gaze burn through my clothes as the song begins.
The sudden air between us had shifted completely once my mind paid attention to the lyrics.
I couldn't think of anything else but the fucking lyrics.
But what I hated most was the part where the beat drops and the specific lyrics, ‘I wanna fuck you like an animal’ I can see from the corner of my eye Misha staring.
Hard.
The stupid red light made the situation worse. What is he doing? Why is he still staring at me? Why is he staring so hard? And why this stupid song over another one? Jesus, Blair, get a grip. It’s just a stupid song.
I glance in Misha's direction to obviously catch him already staring. And when we met gazes, he didn't look away.
His jaw was tensed, and a few drops of dried blood sat on his cheek. The light was still red. It created shadows over his defined nose and eyes.
It makes him look scarier than he already is. His bottom lip quivers, but I force my gaze on his eyes.
“Can you change the song?” I asked nicely, failing to maintain my voice steady. He sighed and faced forward, “Do you hate the song Blondie?” I rolled my eyes, but something in the tone of his voice had completely shifted.
