Teddy Boys to Cookie Cutter Rock Band to Hippies. Leaders of the counterculture. Inspiration to musicians for decades following. The Beatles, arguably the greatest band in recording history, changed the world in ways no one expected. With their famous mop tops and endearing accents, they captured the hearts of fans all around the world and continue to do so fifty years later. 

They reached a height of fame that was unprecedented. Their concerts broke records. Their albums broke records. Fans reached a height of hysteria that shocked older generations. 

Still don't know what all the fuss was about?

- They were musical geniuses. They were innovators. Before them, it was common for rock bands to rely on professional songwriters for their material. The Beatles changed that. 

- When the Sergeant Pepper album was released, it was praised by music critics as a major work of art. The band was even compared to classical musicians such as Schuman or Schubert. It only took days after its release for the album's title song to be covered by other artists (such as Jimi Hendrix).

- They were a global phenomenon. They hold the title of Biggest All-Times Sales For A Band. They had the most number 1 singles in the United States. John Lennon and Paul McCartney were even the Most Successful Songwriting Duo. 

Behind all the fame, all the success, they were just four boys, four friends, four lads from Liverpool. With the odds stacked against them, they fought for their dreams and ended up becoming one of the most memorable icons of the 1960s.
