Born to write, as a teen I wrote my feelings down using the pencil as my sword and paper as my shield. Then I would think of my grandmother who has passed on and say a prayer. After words I would ball up the thoughts on paper and toss it away in the trash along with the weight and stress of it all. This was my way of dealing with things since I had no father around and a mother who was to laid back to understand my issues. I was raised up in a small four bedroom home with twelve people; uncles, aunts, cousins, mother and both grandparents. All these different personalities gave me the tools I needed to survive in the South Nashville area low income housing community. I admit moving into the housing projects at first was a major life changing point in my life and I struggled emotionally. Although after applying all those tools I've received from being in a big family. I started to strive in learning how to survive and become an independent thinking man. Throughout good and bad trials I somehow found God and a beautiful woman that stood with me through it all. The way we raise our family of four kids is through Christ and prayer-and with that, it strengthens family bonds. I realize that through all my struggles God has given me a gift that I must share with the world. Writing has always played a big part of my life whether it was writing poetry, love letters, thoughts, stories or music that I found out later on that I was good at also. Now that I’m up in age and music is just a hobby, I find my sword creating art within pages that are canvases for unlimited artistry. Therefor I feel born again as God’s gift seeps throw my pen once again to share with the world what all that I've experienced through writing.
