I am an author living in Houston, Texas. I wrote The Assassin's Curse, a YA adventure about pirates and assassins, which was nominated for YALSA's Best Fiction for Young Adults. I also wrote The Mad Scientist's Daughter, a science fiction love story about robots and the moon. It was nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award. My latest book is Our Lady of the Ice, a noir science fiction mystery, also about robots, but with snow instead of the moon. This one was nominated for the RT Reviewer's Choice Award in Science Fiction.

In addition to noveling, I teach writing and (sometimes) literature to college students. I love to cook, draw, read comic books and prose books, go to the movies, and analyze Star Wars in depth. I recently took up cross stitch because I'm a grandma at heart.
