“ You smell just like one of them , ” Ivana said flatly , clearly unimpressed as she rested the shotgun against her shoulder. Her expression remained hidden beneath the helmet , though the tension in her voice made her irritation obvious. Hell was the last place she ever wanted to be a— every second spent in the infernal realm only deepened her hatred for it. But the war hadn’t ended with her father. There was still a dark lord breathing somewhere in the abyss , and she intended to be the one who put them down.
“ Though . . . I’ll admit , you’re a better sight than most things down here , ” she added after a pause. “ So who the hell are you ? Never seen a demon that looked this human before. ”

dante let out a low whistle, crossing his arms as he eyed her with that trademark smirk. " different hell, huh? explains why you look like you stepped out of a different apocalypse, " he said, amusement clear in his voice. " and yeah, guilty as charged ... i do give folks headaches. part of my charm. "
he tilted his head, studying her armored figure for a moment. " stranded with a jammed ai and a dead signal? sounds like you could use a hand, ivana. lucky for you, i'm pretty good at making noise in hell. what's this signal of yours tracking anyway? big bad? 'cause if it is, i might just tag along for the fun. I mean, you might have been spat out here for a reason. "

The realization slowly settled in her mind — this probably wasn’t her Hell at all. Dimensional travel wasn’t unheard of where she came from , but stumbling into an entirely different infernal realm still caught her off guard. Looking back on it now , she almost felt stupid for not figuring it out sooner. A faint smirk tugged at her lips as she studied him. “ I can already tell you’re the kind of person that gives everyone a headache , ” she mused. “ Am I wrong ? ” “ I was tracking a signal through a celestial locator , but something must’ve gone wrong during the jump. The teleport dumped me here , and now the signal’s dead. ” The slayer let out a quiet sigh , shifting her weight onto one leg as her gaze wandered across the unfamiliar landscape. “ To make things worse , my A.I.’s gone completely silent. Been jammed for the last hour. ” Her hand settled against her hip as she glanced back at him. “ So , looks like I’m stranded here until I can reconnect to the signal somehow. ”

dante chuckled low, pushing off the rock with a lazy stretch as he rested one hand on rebellion's hilt. his grin only widened at her dry rejection, clearly entertained.
" ivana, huh? suits you. short, sharp, and kinda mean, " he teased, blue eyes sparkling with mischief. " hybrid, yeah. son of some demon that probably doesn't mean anything where you're from. and ouch on the drinks. guess i'll just have to impress you with my demon-slaying skills instead? "
he gave a playful wink, glancing around the hellish landscape before looking back at her. " so, ivana... you hunting something big down here, or we just bumping into each other by chance? "
