Hi all, checking in.

I see a lot of new faces, so let me start off by saying a hello to everyone who has stumbled across my works. My name is LTK: k-pop multi and casual reader/writer of fanfictions. I spent a lot of time here back in lockdown when I was slaving through grad school, and essentially whatever is on here is somewhat of a time capsule of my not-so distant past. Hopefully you have enjoyed what you have read so far.

So what happened? Short answer: loss of drive. That's it.

Back when I was writing 'One In A Million' and even the first few chapters of 'Phoenix Rising', I was still in school and extremely productive with my life. That drive to succeed educationally spilled over to my more creative side, and that resulted in chapters being pumped out weekly. But after graduating last fall and subsequently struggling to use my combined 6 years of uni education with an appropriate job, that drive took a nosedive. I have degrees in rather specific fields of architecture, and that means trying to join a very small job market with nowhere near enough positions for the number of applicants. And while this is very much my pessimistic mind at play, but with the repetition of failures with my job applications and no progress of my life or career, motivation has never been lower.

What does that mean for 'Rising Phoenix'? Frankly, I don't know. I do have the rough plot points of the entire story in my mind, and in fact have had in my mind ever since starting the book. All I need is the drive to start typing again, and maybe the story can continue. Something I've always struggled with writing is that I have so many ideas I want to get on paper, but typing out everything takes me too long and I lose focus. Maybe I'll start writing slowly, and maybe there'll be new chapters coming soon, too early to tell at this point.

But until I do make a return, make sure you are all taking care of yourselves and those around you.

Hi author! I recently returned to Wattpad after a while and it's good to see you working on your new book from time to time. Being one of the regular readers of your first book earlier on, I am sure you will bring a good story out on this new book as well. Hope to see new updates soon. Fighting!

As many of you have noticed, the upload schedule has been a mess, which sort of reflects how my life has been these last few weeks. Ever since I graduated and had to return to the adult world finding jobs and stuff, I’ve been up to my neck with things to do. That and I used to use this platform as a way of creative release from doing hours of research for my coursework, but I think I took this form of “release” too far, and now I’m burnt out from writing, completely negating its purpose. This burnout has reached a point where I just am not happy with anything that ends up on the document I’m just not happy with. Because of it, there are going to be some changes in the current book moving forward.
1, I’ve been working non-stop as both a student and now a TA since September 2021, with no break whatsoever. And now that I have an actual break for Christmas and the holiday season, I’m going to be taking an actual break, a long break, one that will go into January until probably Jan 8th. During that time, if I feel inspired to write again, I’ll stockpile on chapters so that we can get the weekly updates back up in the new year. If not, there is a high chance that the upload schedule gets scrapped entirely next year.
2, “This Week’s ION” will be going away, and the previous instalments in the book will be following suit. I think the sections are and have been taking away from the plot for a while now, and it’s also caused some problems behind-the-scenes, ones that thankfully have been in private, but ones I would rather not risk dealing with again and again later down the road. If you still really want to get my opinions on what I think about new releases, I’m over on YouTube (link under the author bio).
Thanks for dealing with me, and have a good December and holiday season, regardless of what you observe or celebrate. -LTK

Next chapter of 'Phoenix Rising' will be delayed, thanks to not finishing before I left for my current trip (not a cover up for a concert or anything, it's an actual academic conference in Italy). Looking like a double upload next weekend currently since I won't be back until mid-week next week. Apologies for those who were looking forward to it.
