            that got a huff of amusement from felix , he wasn’t the least surprised that someone such as enzo would answer such a question with unbridled honesty .  “ i fear as though i spoil you truly  ,  enzo .  ” and maybe he did in fact , often allowing the other to have more leeway than most .  felix was fair but there was a clear softness for enzo almost if not all the time .  “ one of these days i might do something i shall most certainly regret .  ”

            "yeah."  he admitted easily ;  unashamedly.  "I'm jealous of anything that takes you away from me."  hence the reason that he often found himself sitting near the other as he worked and trailing after him throughout the day.  enzo didn't need all of felix's time  ,  but he did enjoy always being within close proximity to him.

            “ jealous of technology  ,  are we ?  don’t worry..  you have my undivided attention .  ” unable to stop himself from a small chuckle , felix looked at enzo with such a soft fondness in his eyes .  not minding as the said man stuffed himself into his neck .  “ it’s hard to believe at times .  though i am utmost grateful for it and shall not ever take your affections for granted .  ” the softness in him grew and would probably keep growing so long as enzo remained beside him .

            "I wear it because I care."  and he did.  oh so deeply and endlessly.  a continuing void that he willingly fell into.  "is it so strange to be worried in this situation?  you admitted to only doing this as a last resort.  that means something's eating you up to the point that this  ..  "  he motioned to the cigarette.  an action that caused him to pause for a moment.  his brain was a mix of smoke and felix and he was finding it hard not to drown in it.  "  —  is what you had to do to relax."  a small smile graced his face  ,  breaking through the worry that had cemented as his expression.  "you don't have to talk to me about anything  ,  but you know I'm always here if you'd like to."

            felix had always been a reliable guy , honest in coming forth about these things .  but..  he just couldn’t stand that look , let alone having someone so completely and utterly devoted to him .  someone who looked at him with such reverence .  it was enough to male him burst into ten million pieces , morals aside..  enzo truly was too good for him .  two different puzzle pieces who complete each other .  “ i know..  you know i wouldn’t keep something like this from you without reason .  ” he sighed , shaking his head .  meanwhile blue eyes peered down to where he saw the other grasping at his free hand , touch almost burning .  “ that’s the look..  the one i simply cannot stand .  an expression ever etched into my memories .  ”

            he should probably feel bad about being attracted to the situation  ,  considering it was born from felix's stress.  it was a bit inhumane to still find the sight pleasing considering the circumstances.  alas  ,  enzo wasn't known for his morals.  but for now his concern about it all took priority.  "it worries me more knowing you've been dealing with this on your own  ,  felix.  being together is meant to allow us to rely on each other  ,  right?"  he reached out to grab a hold of the other's free hand.  mouth pinched into the expression he could only assume felix had been referring to  —  the one he wore when worried.

            enzo hadn't wanted to help anyone in a long while.  there had only been one person he truly wanted to help in his past.  that want had died down alongside a betrayal.  it was  ..  odd  ,  to so deeply want to assist.  to have an itch to aid the other  ,  one that couldn't be soothed any other way.  "I'm not going to  ..  mother hen you  ,  felix.  I just want to help you carry your stuff around.  I'd offer to help with this on days you're   /  not  /   hurt."  it was unusual for him to request to help.

            “ apologies .  suppose i’m just not use to such help  ,  more so i was the one more often than not helping around .  ” he chuckled softly , thinking about how he would help around the house with his parents .  the memory made him frown a bit , how long has it been since he’s last seen his parents ?  both more than likely paying their dues to the ground right now .  “ i’m not pausing your endeavor..  simply telling you not to become a ‘protective mother hen’ as so the americans say .  ”

            he let out a huff while crossing his arms against his chest.  "burden me?  if it'll help you then it's   /  never  /   a burden.  get that out of your head."  never would he consider anything relating to felix to be bothersome.  if he could help he would be more than willing to.  the thought of felix's injury always pained him  —  helping eased the worry and guilt that festered inside of him.

            "you think   /  that's  /   mine?  I wouldn't  ,  I wouldn't make something so poorly."  he glared down at the   (  still counting down  )   bomb  ,  letting out a scoff.  "there's so many  ,  so many ways to diffuse it!  amateur work."

            "yep!  no better way to  ,  way to ruin someone day than by  ,  by blowing up a bomb before it hits   ,  it hits zero!  this is why countdowns are the  ,  the worst."

            there was an undeniable love and admiration behind felix’s gaze , just the mirth alone from the other’s utter devotion towards him .  it was enough to make his heart shatter into a million pieces , in a good way of course .  just from the force alone was enough to break him , no one in the past has had such an impact as enzo did on him .  he couldn’t help but sigh softly as the said man pressed a kiss into near where the actual injury was , for a man built for destruction..  he was oddly gentle on felix .  “ ich liebe dich  , enzo .  you’re far too kind to me..  don’t know when i’ll ever stop saying that .  ” he let out a breathy chuckle , bringing in the other as closer as he possible could .  “ you still must forgive me on that .  never in my life would i ever make you cry  ,  tears should be nonexistent in those utmost perfect eyes .  ”

            enzo wasted no time after he was given permission.  his skin craved a reminder that they still had each other.  he wanted to feel felix's warmth against his own  ,  hear his heart  ,  feel his breath.  he wanted  —   /  needed  /   to be as close as possible.  still gentle despite the not so subtle desperation  ,  he settled on the side of felix's uninjured shoulder.  frowning at the bandages he could see peeking out from the others shirt.  without much of a thought he leaned down to place a chaste kiss upon the others chest.  nowhere near the actual wound  ,  but instead over the place where his heart would be.  "I love you  ..  "  he repeated while curling into the man.  "and I'm glad you're okay.  but I think I deserve a lot of attention after you made me cry for   /  hours  /  ..  "

            those same eyes would soften a bit at the kiss , it almost baffled felix in a way as to how someone could be so caring towards him .  it wasn’t that the german didn’t get enough love as a child , no— he just couldn’t believe someone like enzo could love him this much .  “ ich liebe dich auch..  you i just can’t stand it when you have this look in your eyes .  ” he knew he couldn’t change how the other felt in this moment but that still didn’t mean felix liked it .  “ i doubt there is much to stop you so.. ja .  just be mindful of the shoulder is all .  ”

            "I'm sure it tastes great.  it was made by you."  enzo was definitely biased.  felix could serve him garbage and he'd think the world of it.  with a content hum he walked closer  ,  wrapping his arms around the others torso from behind  ,  head resting on his shoulder.  " 'kay  ,  I'm ready."

            there was always a fond look in his eyes , especially when cooking .  though , perhaps that fondness wasn’t just at the cooking this time but also the man behind him .  “ another old recipe .  thought i’d try something other than stew for a change .  it proved to be difficult with what little we have at the moment .  ”

            he attempted   (  and failed  )   to rub the remaining sleep from his eyes  ,  giving a small nod of agreement.  "sure  ..  what is it  ,  exactly?"

            he wanted to protest  ,  to argue against the claim.  a few minutes  —  seconds even  ,  seemed like far too much time.  his skin itched with the need to touch  ,  to hold.  but felix asked him to wait.  felix wanted something from him and enzo always did his best to give what he asked.  "  ...  I guess."  he mumbled quietly.  too restless to sit still  ,  he slightly fidgeted in place  ,  mindful to make a minimal amount of noise as to not bother the other.

            felix attempted to push down his amusement , his eyes remained fixated amongst the screen .  “ you see me every day  ,  and every night..  ” the former stasi’s voice was as calming as it ever was , he knew enzo wasn’t the patient type but new his orders wouldn’t be disobeyed either .  not that they were orders , but nonetheless enzo would follow them .  “ you can .  i promise i’ll give you some attention in all but a motion .  you can wait until then  ,  can’t you ?  ”

            enzo whined  ,  shoulders drooping.  despite the display he stayed in place.  he rarely defied felix's wishes.  "I haven't seen you in   /  twenty - six hours  ,  thirty two minutes  ,  and forty one  ..  forty two  seconds  /  !"  because of people not understanding his detonation process  —  he had complained multiple times about that throughout the mission.  twelve steps wasn't   /  that  /   many.  he couldn't just have one!  if it got into the wrong hands  ,  then they'd be able to just set it off.  "I   /  can  /   wait but  ..  I don't want tooo."
