@-chizuzuru oh my gosh, i absolutely love your theory! But first things first, let me answer your question (^^)
            
            The way I have it planned, yes, Makomo and Sabito will become demon slayers and travel with (Y/n). However, there is the problem that they technically did not pass their Final Selection, and yet they're alive again, which raises problems for how the Demon Slayer Corporation is going to deal with it. Are they going to accept them without having them retake the final selection? Or will they have the two of them take the test again just because it's protocol? At this point I can't say anything more without spoiling some plot details, so I'll leave it to you to ponder the information until it's officially written. Also if it's okay with you, I'd love to add your question to the official Q&A episode I have. If you would prefer it just remaining here, that's fine with me as well! Whichever you're comfortable with :)
            
            Now for your theory :D
            I honestly can't reveal too much because the reason why Star Breathing Users work undercover and have little communication with headquarters actually plays a really crucial part in the Mugen Train Arc. However, I can say you're on the right track for why there was such a big gap between (Y/n)'s final selection completion and her first mission (^^)/

@crystallinefox oh and I happened to recall a few amounts of details
            The tenth hashira which I'll refer to Sayuri (which I believe she's the creator of star breathing if I remember and spelled her name correctly) is said to have almost little to no information of her. She only works undercover and almost never get some in contact with the corps.
            My theory is that when Urokodaki informed the hq about the scar y/n had and because of that, they had been alerted of a new star breather after hundreds of years. And that's the reason why y/n only had her first mission of two years.
            Because she's a star breather, and little information is known of said breathing. Kagaya is most likely trying to keep y/n's existence as lowkey as possible because it's a powerful breathing and perhaps the key to muzan's defeat.  I believe he's also the reason as to how y/n's weapon is not made of the usual ore but with starstone rather. But I also doubt he'd be able to keep her a secret forever since she's most likely to intervene with future events which will make her known among the demons.
            I see where you're getting, I'm so excited for the next chapters
