im convinced we need to have a very long conversation on zach being an asshole and the contrast from nora's trauma response and zach's trauma response. zach is AGAINST kindness because he's never experienced it and his brain automatically thinks he has to be an asshole like people were to him, whereas nora CRAVES kindness. obviously they're not a good fucking match and that's the point of the whole book. zach's trauma is continuously overlooked and that's not what i wrote him for.
