I don't know if I'm able to have a say on what happened Wednesday (as a Canadian) but I really need to say something as it's been eating at my mind the past two days.
Before I start this, I do NOT support Charlie Kirk. He was a horrible person, and I never agreed on his opinions.
If you didn't already know, on Wednesday, Charlie Kirk was assassinated on the Utah State University campus during a public debate on Wednesday. He was a far-right activist, a Trump supporter, and was anti-lgbtq, anti-immigration, etc. He was a horrible person in general.
However, gun violence, no matter what party you support, is awful, and will always be a terrible thing. He didn't deserve to die so violently, especially with hundreds of university students and his own family watching.
Although I do feel bad for his kids, who will grow up into a world without their father, and everyone who witnessed this, I do not have a single ounce of empathy for Charlie Kirk. And before anyone says "what about his wife???" she married him. she knew what he supported in and yet, she still married him.
Political violence is never and will never be the answer. Killing someone just because you didn't agree with their political views, no matter how much you don't support it, is never acceptable.
I will not give Charlie Kirk any sympathy. He died in what he fought for. Yet still, gun violence will never be the answer.
If I have said anything wrong, please tell me, and I will take this post down if I don't have a right to speak on this.
