Bonnie was angry when Caroline turned into a vampire, Elena turned and she was by her side. Damon literally rap*ed Caroline and abused her, Matt’s mother didn’t like her, Tyler treated her like s*ht, etc. She was always the second choice, I’ll give you an example, when Matt was in a relationship with Caroline he would talk about the moments he had with Elena. Stefan and Elena used to date the she went to Damon and Stefan then fell for Caroline and married her. Klaus fell in love with Caroline, she was always his first choice.
