Hello! My name is George. *waves* I am a student of Classical History who loves anything to do with history and language. I currently speak English and French, but am studying Norwegian, Latin and Ancient Greek, German, Italian and Spanish. I'm not particularly good at any of them, but I can ask for a glass of red wine in seventeen languages. Gotta learn the vital things.
It is my goal in life to be an eccentric old professor of history who lives in a dusty library, smokes a pipe, and wears tweed suits, suede boots and cravats. I will read anything and everything. My favourite writers are Tolkien, Dostoyevsky, George Eliot, and Terry Pratchett. I have a Shakespeare quote tattooed on my wrist. My favourite book of all time is 'The Lord of the Rings' and always will be. 'Good Omens' is the funniest book ever written. I have a thing for out of print books, collecting black Penguin Classics, gothic romances, and Icelandic sagas. There is a copy of 'Twilight' in my library but it is hidden in a shoebox.
