I've been writing since I was very young, and taking writing courses at every level of my schooling. I've had a few things published in lit journals under my real name but always end up coming back to Wattpad to /relax/ into my work - no expectations to produce anything good, just stuff that's entertaining. I've had tens of accounts over the years, most of which I've forgotten the logins for.
To be honest, I like being unknown. I like writing for only a couple of readers. I've had accounts where my works have reached 16k+ and just... abandoned them, because the weight of being /known/ counters the reason I write under pseudonyms in the first place. Small communities with less than a hundred readers are the strongest. I love getting to know the usernames that are commenting on my works, and seeing people I recognise consistently come back. I've made real-life friendships through Wattpad because those people have been the one-of-only-a-handful-of readers who keep coming back.
I'm hoping I can stick with this profile without running away to another, at least until the 2023 ONC finishes. I participated in the 2021 ONC on a different profile and ended up as one of the honourable mentions... then deleted the book and abandoned the account. Fingers crossed I'm not dumb enough to do the same thing here.
