If I said I have a chapter ready for this weekend but it ends on a massive cliffhanger and I have no idea when the next chapter will be finished, how do people feel?
Prepared because as least your warning us that there's a cliff and we might have to wait awhile for the next one. I've always rathered Honest writers who care and write well than ones who rush and just say "oh well that would do"
Apologies for radio silence and just completely disappearing! Hope you’re all okay! I’ve just come home from a lovely and very much needed holiday/vacation/week in the sun with a lot of mojitos, and I’m about to go back to work during what is always our busiest time. I’m also juggling a couple of other real-world projects and non-fanfic writing jobs that are stealing my focus atm. I’m going to try my hardest to get a chapter out asap because I’m so desperate to move onto the next section of Only a Northern Song (I have SO many ideas and twists planned) so please bare with me. I’m sorry for the delay but I hope you’ll all find it worth it when the chapters are out. In the meantime I’d encourage you to reread older chapters (there’s actually a surprising amount of foreshadowing in them that even I forget about!) Big Love To You All!!!
Currently thinking about how the original plan for only a northern song had Willas and Edda sitting the war out in Highgarden and their first kid was a daughter called Chiarra. 18yr old me who had just started writing that fic had no idea what was going on lmao

Trying my hardest to get a chapter ready for next weekend but every time I start it I end up deciding I don’t like it so I have to start over

@JacklineClark that’s very sweet ❤️ normally I plan a chapter but when it comes to writing I’m a one draft and done kinda writer (though I reread everything before posting) so I don’t know what’s occurring. I think I just know the next few chapters are a big deal so I wanna get it right

Realised just now that it’s been almost a year since I last wrote a chapter featuring both Edda and Willas and now I’m scared I forgot how they even interact with each other lol
@JacklineClark im definitely going to lean into the awkwardness at least while I find my feet with them again! I’m excited to get it written and know what you think to it all!
I think that’s perfect actually! They will be super uncomfortable at the beginning and it will take time for them to warm up again before they’re back on the same wave. So excited for that!!

So sorry for the lack of updates recently! My plan for January was to write as much as possible so I had plenty of chapters written in advance, but that quickly went out of the window when I realised I actually desperately needed a break (working in the theatre industry at Christmas is not for the weak lol). I’ve been on holiday too so I’ve had very little time for writing. I’m going to try and get a chapter out for you guys next weekend but for now, sorry for the lack of updates and thank you for your patience (I promise it’ll be worth it ;) ).
