            bernadette  answers  almost  immediately,  her  tone  sharper  than  usual.  it  takes  her  a  moment  to  realize  how  close  she  is  to  snapping,  so  she  averts  her  gaze,  avoiding  eye  contact.
            
            ⠀⠀⠀❛⠀⠀i  just  ..  i  don't  know.  i  don't  feel
            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ like  me  today.  but  it's  whatever.
            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ why .ᐣ   do  i  look  that  awful .ᐣ
            
            then,  just  as  quickly,  she  forces  out  a  small  laugh.  she  tries  to  sound  casual,  like  she's  asking  him  in  a  playful  manner,  yet  there's  something  else  beneath  all  that.

            she  tilts  her  head  slightly,  finger  tapping  against  her  arm  as  she  considers  his  words.  when  he  doesn't  tell  her  the  story  behind  his  distaste  for  human  blood,  she  frowns.  pouts  like  the  child  that  she  is.
