The messages come from "ghost accounts": accounts that have just recently been created and have no activity or personalization. One of the known scammer accounts is @terpconbile1988 .

Hey guys! As some of you may know, today is the second day of lent. Every year I give up electronics, as it is a bug but manageable sacrifice, so that means no updates or activity for all 40 days.
