            {  dahlia  can't  help  but  stiffen  at  the  initial  touch.   she's  still  not  familiar  nor  trusting  of  a  hand  raised  to  love  rather  than  punish,   still  hesitant  to  accept  that  'love'   is  synonymous  with   'kindness'   despite  the  time  that  has  passed.     yes,   she's  stiff  as  a  corpse  when  that  first  touch  brushes  her  skin.
            but  then  she's  pulling  cassie  in.
            it's  uncomfortable,   that  is  for  certain.    she's  used  to  hugging  her  family  and  no  one  else,   yet  something  deep  in  her  heart  resurrects  like  frankenstein  when  cassie  is  around.    her  eyes  close  momentarily,   a  whisper  of  once  unseen  content  relaxing  her  tense  features.   }    you  get  a  pass.             i  have  done  worse.     {  this  first  dismissal  is,  while  sharp,   barely  given  the  tone  that  is  commonly  perceived  as  a  bite  to  the  wrong  crowd.   dahlia  keeps  her  arms  pulled  around  herself  despite  the  strain  on  her  hand  with  each  movement,   eyes  barely  flicking  in  recognition  of  her  father.   }     y  i  would  do  it  again.    he  hurt  you.    people  who  do  that  are  simply  not  allowed  to  continue  on  like  normal.
