In the world of Novel: you don't just cut off a story/book midway and say you don't feel like writing the rest because it doesn't interest you anymore! If you decide to stop writing because your readers were being harsh on you; "DON'T STOP!" Don't let anyone stop you from writing!
If writing is what you love to do; DO NOT, AND I MEAN DO NOT LET ANYONE STOP YOU FROM DOING WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO! Not even mean words should stop you from your passion. 
To those of you who cut those lovely stories off just because you want to; Please don't start till you're really sure You are going to finish it!
