@foxglcve If Summer wasn’t confused before, she certainly was now. « Wait, slow down, I don’t really get what you’re saying. » She tilted her head. She felt lost in that helpless way where she wanted to help out, but she was in the dark about it.

(abigail may be young, but she’s no idiot. she’s lived long enough to know it isn’t her place to tell anyone anything, especially regarding her brother. it would be selfish to spill a secret not hers) his heart. [..] like i said, julius is stupid. don’t worry, it wasn’t recent. it was when WE were kids. so [..] two hundred—ish years ago, i think. he trusted the wrong people & screwed himself. he’s STILL paying the price, y’know. & before you ask, the price isn’t his visions. THAT was a birth gift. but he can explain that himself. (fortunately for herself, abigail has no trouble being selfish. she’s fond of it, quite the gossip. fear, she’s decided, has driven her brother to not trust his biggest secret to the singular person deemed worthy of it by her & that simply won’t do)

@foxglcve « If you’re worried about him, don’t be. » Summer said softly. After a moment of hesitation, she reached forward and placed a hand on the 16 year old’s shoulder. « He’s safe with me, promise. » She pulled away then and rested back into the couch. « So uh.. you said he lost something..? Is it okay if I ask what? » / RUH ROH

you can always leave anytime you want. abby or no abby, that won’t change, (he blurts out, relief whelming in him. julius had already gone talked to abigail on the matter. he’d made sure she understood how much this means to him, & much to her displeasure, he’d gotten her to agree to be nice. his arms snake around summer, tugging her closer until she stands between his legs) thank you sweet girl. honestly. this means more than you know to me.

@phantasmed After everything that happened, Summer was not all that keen to spend dinner with Abby. But Julius seemed insistent.. And she loved him too much to say no. « Fine. » She sighed aloud and got up from her seated position on his couch. « But I wanna be able to leave anytime I want.. okay? »

Life with this new adoptive family, however, would be difficult. Her new parents were abusive and neglectful, often leaving their two young children to provide and care for themselves. Toren grew very protective of Summer as a result, shielding her as best as he could from the abuses of their parents.
Toren would be 18, Summer 14, when they ran away together from the home and found a cheap apartment for rent in a nearby neighborhood. Summer, when she was enrolled into school, would find a passion for photography.

Born Roseanne Kim, her parents Jack and Anna were part of a cult which worshipped 9 families, each member like a deity. They would tell the stories of these powerful families to their younger daughter. Summer would retain the memories of these stories, even knowing them word for word today.
Summer, however, detested the cult. She hated how restrictive life was underneath. She soon grew resentful and tried multiple times in her young life to escape, and when that wouldn’t work, she would bring contraband all the time into her house.
Watching the careful decline of their daughter, the Kim parents decided that their daughter was possessed by demons, only curable by ritualistic means.
So on a cool August night in 2006, at only 9 years old, Summer’s birth parents would drug their daughter to put her to sleep, and then take her to the woods where they would tie her up and attempt to light the ground below her ablaze, believing it would cure her of her possession.
Summer would manage to free herself in the fire and run away, eventually coming across an orphanage ran by nuns who would take her in. Not long later, she was adopted by the Harris-Jung family, and she’d gain a brother in their son, Toren.

( @opreance ) lily tilted her head then took the napkin back. she frowned, then put a finger up to ‘wait a minute’. she then grabbed a pen off the same guy she got the napkin from then wrote on said napkin, ‘i’m sorry’ then at the bottom, in smaller hand writing, ‘and yeah, i’m mute’

( @opreance ) lily watched the other silently, then grabbed a napkin from the nearest stranger, probably angering them too in the process. she then handed the other said napkin, thinking that’ll solve all of their problems.
