hi, i have not been active on wattpad for awhile, but i am sharing a link to a discord server that has many many resources, news updates, and informational links about world issues and emergencies (particularly palestine, congo, sudan, yemen, and lebanon, though others are spoken about as well.).

it’s a good place to start if you’re unsure what resources are trustworthy or not, or if you would like to educate yourself on global emergencies.

remember, bisan has called for a global strike starting today to the 28th. please participate as you are able!! this means avoid work, school, anything involving monetary transactions. use this time to make noise in support of palestine: call your local representatives, attend protests, and disrupt politicians who are able to sit comfortably during a genocide.

hey i’m sorry for the lack of activity, i’ve been pretty under the weather as of late.

i’ve see a massive decline in posts about palestine everywhere and it’s super disappointing to see the support for victims of genocide be some trend to those who don’t truly care. it may be easy for you to let it fade into the background, but it is a reality that people are currently living that should not be ignored. we have to continue to post and to uplift palestinian voices, no matter how long it takes to see palestine free.

living outside of palestine, it’s easy to reduce the people of gaza to numbers, but it’s imperative to remember there are real human people behind those numbers that should not be forgotten. here’s a post about gaza before october https://x.com/malakashwaikh/status/1744380347297448357?s=46&t=zqHpb2yqgPxAMwd87n7ipg it showcases the beauty of gaza and i think its a good reminder of what we’re fighting for.

with christmas soon to be here (or already here for some) i would just like to remind everyone of the boycotts that are ongoing, especially if you plan on spending money you’ve received from gifts. i have posted links to many popular companies that are being boycotted lower on my mb, so if you need a refresher they’re right there.

don’t stop posting about gaza. don’t stop posting about palestine. continue to use your platform to support the innocent people who are still suffering at the hands of isr*el.

tomorrow, dec. 18, is another global strike in support of palestine. this means refrain from school, work, purchases, or banking transactions.

egypt and mauritania have invoked resolution 377a after the un has failed to do the thing it was made for (again)( https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/2023/12/11/whats-un-resolution-377a-can-it-help-in-efforts-to-stop-israel-gaza-war ). an emergency meeting of the un general assembly will be held today, and if there is a group of members come to a consensus there may be collective action against isr*el. unfortunately, the recommendations are not legally binding, but i still hope from the bottom of my heart that something comes of this. read the article i sent for a more in-depth explanation of what could happen and how resolution 377a has been used in the past.

          a few resources to add:

@crierayla has a script posted that calls for a ceasefire. you can use it to call/email reps in your country. the link in the same mb has a list of contacts for canadian reps.

reminder that tomorrow, dec 11. is the global general strike. this means no work, school, banking, purchasing etc. etc. in order to show our governments that there is no continuing life as normal while innocent people are suffering in a genocide!!

@girlpools i am in the exact same boat as you. i feel really bad for not being able to do as much as possible but it's what i can do within my limitations. having a mother that puts so much emphasis on going to school and not missing class when you have debilitating health issues that prevent you from doing just that is very taxing. other than that, i will be participating and advocating for the strike. doing what we can is better than doing nothing

*** TO ADD. with total transparency and accountability that this is NOT an excuse to not participate, i am unable to miss school on monday because of my poor-attendance prior to the strike (health issues). however, i will not be buying anything, using my bank account, or doing anything that would contribute to my government’s ignorance of the genocide.
