When renowned time-wave expert Dov Sabastien, from the human-colonized Planet Pachamama, is presented with four time disruptions in Earth's historical timeline that threaten to cause catastrophic damage to humanity, she must figure out why time is pivoting and how to prevent it from occurring in the first place-and the only way to do that is to travel back in time. Dov and her two AIs travel across time and space to 1914 Sarajevo, but their failure to stop an assassination cuts off communication with Pachamama. With no home to return to, they can only make their next jump to present-day Boston, where Dov meets and befriends the scientist whose work on time waves would inspire Dov hundreds of years later, and then to a future dystopia, where they learn that they are being used as pawns by an advanced civilization in a deadly serious game that culminates in a climatic biblical battle for humanity's survival in ancient Sumeria.
