I am a Brazilian English teacher who has recently discovered the joy of writing. English is not my first language, so it makes writing more challenging if I'm being honest. I like to write stories that have something to do with Brazilian culture. It's not because I am Brazilian that I write about Brazil, I do it because I think this brings a new flavour for those who know nothing about my country. Have you ever read a Brazilian horror story written in English by a native Brazilian writer? I don't think many people write in foreign languages about their countries. Anyway, I guess that whether or not you like my stories, at least you can say you know a little bit more about Brazilian culture. The inspiration behind my stories is the native Indians that live in Brazil, most of them live in the amazon rainforest which is usually where my stories take place. Although I haven't been writing for so long, I think I've been writing for less than a month now, I really enjoyed my first experience writing the first chapter of the book that I'm working on called 'The Devil's Orchard'. I had a nightmare one day about a gigantic evil tree inside an old lady's house, I won't say much about it otherwise I'll spoil the fun of reading my story. That dream stuck with me for a while and I talked to my friend over whatsapp about it, he thought it was creepy and I kept thinking about a story with the scene that I described to him. Then it hit me. Why don't I write a story about that dream? And I did write something about it and showed it to my friend. He was quite impressed with what I wrote and advised me to keep writing it. I kept doing it and slowly I started to have fun with the words and here I am now. I still love my job as an English teacher and I don't really want to become a full-time writer, but it's a great hobby and who knows where the writing will take me. I hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them. If possible leave me a comment. Take care.
