A cry for help from an editor: if you want to publish your book, do at least TWO rounds of editing and proofreading of your own before you submit a manuscript.
PLEASE.
You have little idea how jarring it is for someone to read the manuscript with fresh eyes until you gamble with the possibility of a rejection email.
It doesn't matter if your premise is amazing if you haven't at least tried to polish it. This is what Wattpad and AO3 are great for. I know I can look past grammar and spelling just a bit if the story is that good. But that mercy doesn't extend to traditional (or self) publishing.
THANK YOU.
