* trekking up this hill, in the blistering summer heat, was nowhere near fun. it wasn’t as if will ( and mike too, he hoped ) didn’t want to spend time with dustin, find out how this ‘ cerebro ’ worked and who this girl he’d met a science camp was, but.. when mike suggested ditching for the umpteen time that summer, will found himself relenting within seconds. besides, it was going to get dark in a few hours, and he was meant to be home by then. that was the excuse they’d used, anyway, before beginning to rush back down the grass covered slopes with their hands clasped together. suppressing the laugh that wanted to bubble out was near impossible, and it came tumbling from will’s lips despite his best efforts. * we should probably apologise for doing this again tomorrow.

* absentmindedly twirling rouge curls that rested at mike’s nape around his finger, his features supporting a soft smile as he hummed lightly at the pleasant contact. it was gentle and warm, but not in the way the soaring summer heat was. it was warm, and comfortably so. soothingly so. it was warm like home. truthfully, will thought he might be one of the luckiest people he knew, despite what others believed. he survived a week within the upside down, was rescued from the clutches of the mind flayer, was gifted with the most loving mother and brother he could imagine, had the best group of friends, and he had mike. * of course you can kiss me.

〔 ♡ @clericall 〕;; mike still acted like a little kid at times and soon got ahold of himself and nuzzled into the brunette's neck , wrapping his arms around his waist gently . he held him close and smiled while wondering how they got here . from meeting will at the swings to losing him in the abyss of the upside down to getting him back and losing him again to the mind flayer to finally get him back and have him now . either way , whether or not he knew , he was just glad to have him here .. ❛ can i kiss you ? .. i really wanna kiss you . ❜ .

* will, despite trying to play up the annoyed demeanour, couldn’t help but release a small laugh at the way mike was swaying them, finding his boyfriend’s behaviour all too endearing. god, he wanted to kiss him. even if he was a serial offender in cheating during silly races. his arms found their way to mike’s neck. * fine. fine, you win, mike.
