her wedding was arranged for her seventeenth birthday but she ran away with one of the thieves she had grown to know throughout the years. he takes her under his wing and he shows her the crooked life of a criminal. from then on, she goes through a rollercoaster of events that lead to her becoming a pirate for the hell of making something out of herself. no longer deemed “the ambassador’s strumpet daughter” as she was then coined “the one-eyed royal bandit”. the name highlighted the rise and fall of a former noble lady.

she isn’t very close to her father’s wife, imelda.. since she still isn’t so happy about the affair that resulted in teresa. additionally, imelda has struggled the most with getting teresa to play her part as the ambassador’s daughter. she has grown so frustrated that she would often cruelly punish teresa, projecting her own emotions onto her for many years. imelda dies from disease when teresa is fourteen years old. she never was much of a mother figure. the servants were the closest thing teresa ever had to one.
