If someone asked what genre I like to read, I would answer to all.  I don't have a particular, really.  I simply enjoy reading.  The knowledge from reading is invaluable and the creativity in the written word is, to me, far more vivd and colorful than any photo or canvas.  What's shaped inside the human mind from reading but one sentence is so unique to each of us.  We can read an exquisite line of prose or a stanza in a poem and yet come away from it with ideas of what it means or what it would look like in our own minds; sometimes no two minds will ever come up with the same image.
