@jjosephiine Yeah, it's true, book editors generally don't exist kind of? I mean, you'd have seen in preface of books and such about how authors either let someone they know proofread their work or maybe the publishing house they are affiliated with has one. You can take English Major and write your own book, that's what you're interested in. Psychology Major will leave you with two dominant career options ~1) be a psychologist  or 2) Complete Masters and probably PhD and teach in an University or sumn. There might be other options depending on the place you reside in.
            It'd be great if you can go with something that promises an immediate earning options, yk? That way, the more degrees you get in that field, the better candidate you're for those jobs. 
            As I said, to make an informed decision, you will have to read the scope of the major you want, what you can do with that degree and even it's syllabus and such. The more idea you have about what is going on with that subject, the easier the decision making becomes.
            It's obviously upsetting that the major you opt for has no proper jobs but it's just a part of the process. 
            I hope you find something that pushes you to study harder. Don't drop majors you're interested in just because those don't have a good career option. If you've the commitment and the proper knowledge, if you've put your time and efforts, it's bound to pay off in the end. No hard work ever goes unrewarded.

@thefluffypowtato oh my god you're like the sweetest person ever thank you so much for the lengthy reply I really appreciate your advice, and no I haven't graduated highschool yet but it's coming slowly but surely. I just hope that everything will be all right and that I don't end up feeling regretful and disappointed for the rest of my life. also about the editor thing, when it first came to mind, I was thinking more book editor, but my dad mentioned that "nobody is going to want me" if I end up becoming one, because they apparently aren't really needed much or it's difficult to find a job as one???? not sure, but it upset me quite a bit nonetheless
