WJ Sonita aka Joy Trinidad P. Baltazar

I am currently working in the Group of Companies of Royal Cargo Combined Logistics as Head of its International Accounting Department.  I travel a lot visiting our company’s branches in countries all over the world, conducting meetings & trainings and performing audits.   I took up BSBA major in Accounting at (UST) University of  Sto Tomas and  (PSBA) Philippines School of Business Administration.  I also studied Law at San Beda College Mendiola.  I'm a CPA - Certified Public Accountant.

     Being a product of a Capampangan Father and an Ilonggo Mother,  I am a sweet but a very strict person.  I am fond of cooking, too.  I am a mother to three children – Wilfred, 20 years old, 3rd year Biology in UST;  Jayson, 17 years old, 4th yr High; and  Donita Joy, 16 years old, 3rd year High, both in St Jude Catholic School (a Chinese Catholic School).

     I started my writing way back in Grade School where I have written poems and short articles for the school paper.  I continued doing this in my high school at Manuel Roxas High School, Quezon City, Philippines.  There, I took up subjects of Journalism and Developmental Communication.  I was a member of the Editorial Staff and has written a lot for the High School paper “Trailblazer”.  I was also the Editor-in-chief of the quarterly paper of our college organization JPIA (Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants).

     I'm one of the very first members of the Emanila Poetry site way back in 2005.  I write poems both in English and Filipino languages.  My poem “Gising, Eba!” is one of the poems published and launched by the said website, a book entitled “Sa Kabila ng Ritmo”.  Afterwards, I also became a member of Kamakataan, a poetry org.

   I don the pen name “W. J. Sonita” and most of the time, people mistakenly refer to me as male because of the name!  I now write under my real name and would like to be known by that as I continue with my journey in life.
