Hello!

I meant to update Written by Firelight yesterday, but unfortunately I never got around to it. I might update today or tomorrow depending on how things are going, but there's also a chance I might just take another week off lol.

A little peek at my life (in case you are interested):

My move actually went a lot more smoothly than I anticipated given all the crazy stuff happening in our world right now. My mom dropped me off and flew back home a few days ago, so I've just been working on settling in since then. I'm currently quarantining in my tiny dorm, which in theory means that I would have a lot of time to write, but in reality is actually very mentally and emotionally draining so I've been pretty unproductive. (Don't worry, my mom and I both tested negative before we flew, I'm just being extra careful :))

Anyways, I just wanted to give a little life update and promise that I haven't abandoned my writing. As always thank you so much to everyone that has read and voted for Written by Firelight, it means everything to me!

Good morning!

I'm unfortunately not going to be updating Written by Firelight this week.

On Friday I'm moving across the country to a city I've never even visited before, and I barely have time to eat much less write. Also it turns out that moving out of your parents' house and living alone in a new city at 16 years old is a lot more terrifying and complicated than my idealistic self thought it would be when I made this plan, so any time not spent packing is currently reserved for panic attacks.

Huge shout-out to my amazing family though for helping me with this and supporting my impulsive dumbass in following my dreams. <3

And as always thank you so much to the people who read and vote for my stories. I cherish every notification and it means more than I can say!

The next chapter for Written By Firelight is up!
It's short and honestly pretty dark, but now that it's over with things should start to lighten up again.

          Excerpt:
"Day dawned to little fanfare the next morning. A gorgeous sunrise unseen by a city that had long since grown numb to a skyline painted orange. Usually when the sun comes it chases away the nightmares, now it could do nothing but illuminate them."

Thank you so much to everyone that has read and voted for the story so far. It means a lot to me! :) <3

Coming soon: Oracle IV

It's the summer of 1937 and the secret government mission known as Project Oracle is about to launch its fourth attempt at human-to-alien contact.

Strange signals that imply intelligent life forms have been received from a not-too-distant solar system, and a brave crew has volunteered to investigate. By the time they reach their destination and exit cryosleep 50 years will have passed on Earth, and unbeknownst to them a devastating world war will have destroyed their mission control center and erased all record of their existence.

Now completely alone across the galaxy, they are left to their own devices to complete their mission and discover the origin behind the mysterious summons. But what if the signal they picked up half a century ago wasn't a greeting but a distress call? Or worse, a warning?
