Mark McClelland is a writer and software developer. You can find more about his writing at stuffbymark.com.

His first book, "Upload", is a near-future science-fiction novel about a misfit hacker with a criminal past, whose dream is to upload his consciousness to a computer and disappear into a virtual world of his own creation. "Upload" is a Winner of the ForeWord Reviews 2012 Book of the Year Award in Science Fiction, and one of Chicago Book Review's Best Books of 2014.

Mark's newest book, "Curse of the Healing Kiss", was inspired by French fairy tales of the 17th century. This novella brings emotional realism to a universal story of love, trust, and jealousy, in a fantasy kingdom where curses are all too real. The narrative revolves around two main characters, Malvinia and Modeste, and their struggle to understand and come to terms with their differing views on the nature and bounds of committed love.

Mark studied Computer Science and Creative Writing at the University of Michigan's Residential College, where he won a Hopwood Award for poetry. He writes in search of truths that defy simple, direct expression, and publishes to share his discoveries with others. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Nancy, and two cats, and is hard at work on his next book.
