          The Duke of Sherards knew fear when he saw it. It was sheer, blind terror that he saw in the eyes of Lady Evangelina when she showed up in the middle of the night at Sherards Manor with the most incredulous proposal: That of marriage. 
          
          "I dare not ask this of anyone else, for I am aware that the minute my father comes knocking at their doors asking for me, they will relinquish me like property back to its rightful owner. I do not ask for your love for I know I will need to earn it. I am here to ask you for mercy, if you have any, for a woman who seeks to fight for herself before her soul is snatched from her body by her own." 
          
          She asked for sanctuary and for him to become her husband and protector. He agreed, not because she was terrified, but because her fear bothered him for the first time in a long time. Or maybe just because he needed a saving grace just as much as she did.

Can I just say your book is just amazing y'know i have read some amazing authors that are incredible in their own way and you are included in that list ....... it's been so long since i am writing this monologue that i write everytime a story just touches me so hard that it leave it's marking on my heart ....... Exquisite was amazing.......read in like 3 hours the whole book and waiting for sublime and just to tell you how you are different from others is that I never read more than one book of one universe.....i just don't like it ......i like only one male lead and female lead in one universe but for fucking sake you changed that and making me so much tickeled about your next book .......keep it up author !!!!!

"Cassien? It's ... It's Scotch." Her voice was ragged, slow; her words were slurred and pained. "I - I need you. Hunter ... He's dead. I shot him. And I'm ..." It was a single sob, clearly the result of a hurried attempt to muffle it. 
          
          Fury sang in my blood, anger so potent it made my bones burn.
