Kulthum Asha is a proud Nigerian writer eager to clarify that her Yoruba roots run deep despite her possibly misleading name. Armed with a social science degree and a dissertation on financial literacy in undergrads (conquering her aversion to numbers in the process), Kulthum can rightfully be hailed as a social scientist - a title that's sure to earn you brownie points with her. She published her first YA legal thriller, THE HALL OF FRAME when she was seventeen and made the national news for what her uncles refer to as her 'sweet mouth.' She's a scriptwriter, terrible poet, bookstagrammer who realized in 2021 that she has a knack for writing pretty good black romcoms and mysteries. She is a big believer in writing stories with Nigerian women as leads and says are stories are to all of them who aspire to be unapologetically badass, competent, and pined over.
