[ inside the box:  a small,  silver bunny charm. ]    isn’t it cute?  i thought you could wear it on a chain,  but it’s definitely light enough for a charm bracelet.

i think you're just being too hard on yourself.  we can always get a custom made.  [ judas came to stand behind her,  hands settling comfortably on her waist.  he tilted his head down to press a gentle kiss to the top of her spine. ]  but yes,  i think that'd be nice.  you should get it,  honest.

[ sierra turned away from him,  her bare back facing him now as she adjusted the dress in the mirror,  frowning, ]    and i hate the way ready-to-wear couture sits on my body.  but..    [ a sigh;  she could be charitable to herself,  she supposed, ]    those earrings you bought me for my birthday would really pull this together.  don’t you think?

[ judas was genuinely stunned into silence for a moment,  eyes raking over every inch of her body in the dress as he leaned in the doorway.  then,  he stepped fully into the spacious dressing room,  nudging the door shut behind him. ]  you look amazing.  really.  what's not to like ?

that's not a no.  [ despite the frown that now graced his lips,  he obliged,  releasing her and pulling away.  after a moment of debating with himself,  he began to strip off his clothes in full view of the mirror. ]  why does james need you to come in so early anyway ?

sorry. * he looked up at her, but only briefly. if he did it for too long, he might shrink, and god forbid that happened. he was already an imposter; he didn't need to be a weak one at that. *  nothing needs to change. we'll just continue on as normal, until he comes back.

            [ sierra stilled,  frozen for a moment in her too-familiar process of putting herself back together.  temporarily pausing her search for her clothes,  she turned to look at grant over her shoulder,  her gaze grazing his face;  flicking to his lips and settling on his eyes. ]    you are so clingy.  you know that,  right?   [ answering a question with another question.  oldest trick in the book. ]    have you seen my shirt?  it’s here somewhere.

[ sierra caught his sleeve as he passed by her,  tugging him gently back so she could press a soft kiss to his lips, ]    i appreciate it though.  i just made dinner.  let’s sit down and then you can show me what you’ve brought.

i mean,  it felt a bit rude coming over empty-handed.  just repayment for all the cartoons i've made you watch,  i guess.  [ he entered,  still holding the paper bag in his arms as he turned to look back at her, ]  it's the least i could do.

            breakfast?    [ the thought of it was inherently comical to sierra.  /breakfast/.  she laughed,  head shaking, ]    if you want.  you might as well stay over then.    [ hhh.  she pretended not to notice his gaze,  rolling her shoulders back in a gentle shrug, ]   the serial killer himself isn’t boring.  waiting for him to,  you know,  serial-kill is what’s boring.  i like red’s company though,  so i guess it could be worse.
            
            [ a beat,  then two. ]     yeah,  i wouldn’t mind that.  i like your company as well.

[ instinctively,  he almost stepped back at the sudden face-to-face,  the grin that'd already begun to form on his face nearly faltering, ]  i mean,  i'm willing to accept breakfast too,  if that's what you'd prefer.  i'm not a picky guy.  [ keeping his thoughts straight around sierra was beginning to feel more impossible every day,  especially now,  eyes roaming every inch of her face,  ]  that's /boring/ to you ?  i think we have very different definitions of the word, then.  but i don't know,  i'm not as exhausted as i usually am after patrol...  i wouldn't mind staying for a bit,  if you'd like ?  i don't want to be a bother.
