An open letter to people in this community who feel ashamed that they do not identify with their assigned gender or that they are attracted to the same gender that they identify as,

You deserve to be able to be with someone that you love. You deserve to be able to kiss them if you want to, to revel in the beautiful nature of your love. You should not feel the need to hide this, to bottle these emotions. If you are Christian specifically, Jesus loves you. You were made to love or identify in the way that fulfills your soul. It's not a sin. It's not shameful. If someone has made you feel that way, I apologize on their behalf. That is not the way that Jesus would want them to behave, and it's inherently shameful to claim otherwise. Religion, in its purest form, should be about the power and love of a community. The embracing of differences and the understanding that these differences are not a fluke. You were made in the image of God, and you are beautiful. It's not sinful to "act on these urges" as some put it, because you deserve to live your life unrestrained if you are safe doing so.

Love is love is love is love. To the Christians who have made these people feel this way: we'll pray for you.

I haven't been on here in years and I don't really intend to come back, but it disturbs me to go through book lists and continue to see some of my covers still being used.

If you don't know this (or know it but choose to ignore it), I am a lesbian. "Hate the sin and love the sinner" isn't a thing, and my covers are inherently homosexual because I am. Yes, hating homosexuality means that you are a homophobe. No exceptions.

Much love to those who aren't like that - I miss you and wish we could've talked more. I encourage you to suggest removing my covers in general. I'm not even on here anymore. Regardless of your involvement, please support the new cover shops that I'm sure have opened in the time since I've left. There are so many talented people who deserve publicity. Please don't use the old covers I made you. Please support the people who are still active on here.

At best, this community was a warm, loving place, and at worst I had my ideas stolen, my feelings criticized, and my sexuality shamed. Let's be real — the Gravity Falls community during my time on Wattpad (approximately 2017-early 2019 in actual involvement) was deeply toxic and extremely harmful. While there was positive experiences, there were also extremely negative ones that began to outnumber them. It's why I left, and it's why I'm never going to come back to it. I'm glad to be gone from Wattpad, but once again if we left on amicable terms, I would always be happy to speak to you again. In general, you were the people who made this experience so joyful and loving.

Since I've already burned my bridges: to those who felt like the Gravity Falls Wattys were cliqueish: they absolutely were. I wish that I had never been a part of them and I apologize to the participants. One of the books that won was due to the judges feeling intimidated by the participant. Take the results with a grain of salt and pat yourself on the back for your hard work. I wish you had gotten a fighting chance.

@ontheupsidedown I haven't interacted with you much but you're completely valid here. And I understand where you're coming from on this as well. I wish you the best of luck!
