I still remember listening to the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone audiobook I got for my tenth birthday. When I say I remember it, I could probably quote along with Stephen Fry for at least the first five chapters. It is safe to say that ever since watcing the first movie when I was six, I was utterly hooked.

Did anyone have the Harry Potter sticker albums? I did. Did anyone design and print off their own Harry Potter Top Trumps? I did. Books? Films? Midnight release? Tick. Tick. Tick. And then the final film came. And went. And the world of Harry Potter dwindled and went out.

Fantastic Beasts has made a valiant attempt at reviving the franchise, but in my opinion that wondrous feeling, that magical feeling I fell in love with as a child has never been recaptured. And now I've got into writing, still a Grade: O Harry Potter nerd, my goal is to create a cohesive story that invokes the same escapism now as in 1997.
