Hello! My name is Genevieve. I live in a small town in Alberta, Canada. Where I live, it gets pretty cold, but I love the snow that comes with the winter months. I go to university and I'm studying psychology. COVID has made it quite difficult for me to learn (I've learned that I'm not that great with online learning!), but if there's one thing I've discovered during this time, it's that I like to write. I'm not that great at it, but I still love doing it and I improve each time. I love reading books as I believe books are portable magic! We can go to so many places just by reading in cozy reading nooks in our bedrooms or a local library.

Some of my other hobbies include cuddling my kitten, teaching, painting, writing down quotes from books I love, and daydreaming.

Some of my absolute favorite books include "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini, "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi, and "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho.

I don't know what I want to do with my career, but whatever I do, I hope it's impactful and fulfilling.

I lost my father recently to cancer and it took a toll on my well-being. I'm doing much better now and am learning to become a stronger person and support my family. I hope that one day, I can use my psychology degree to help people get through tough trauma. There's a lot of stigma around mental health!

Anyways, I think I've blabbered enough about myself. Since I love quotes, I'll leave you with this one:

"We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark, the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." ~ Plato
